Copying Pages

A quick and easy way to duplicate a page, with all its content and its format, and (optionally) its children.

On this page:

A page can be copied within the same parent directory, or to another location. If the page is copied into a different site, the page will assume the styling of that new site.

Copying Within the Same Parent Directory

From the Websites console.

  1. In the Tree View, navigate to the parent directory of the page you want to copy.
  2. Select your page in the List View (right pane).
  3. Click Copy from the toolbar or right-click the page and select Copy.
  4. Click Paste.
  5. The 'Copy' dialog box will appear.  Adjust settings:
    • Copy name - Enter the desired new name.
    • To - Leave as is for the same location.
    • Copy children - Deselect unless you want the copy to include any children of the original page.
  6. Your page will appear in the List View.
  • Be aware, the copy will be created with the same Title as the original page.
  • If you don't rename the page, it will be the original page's Name with a numerical suffix;
    e.g. original-page may become original-page1.

From the Sidekick.

  1. With your page open in edit mode, click the Page tab in the Sidekick.
  2. Click Copy Page.
  3. The 'Copy' dialog box will appear.  Adjust settings:
    • Copy name - Enter the desired new name.

  5. Deselect Copy children unless you want the copy to include any children of the original page.
  6. For Copy name, adjust the Name you wish the new copy to have.
  7. Click Copy.

A notification will briefly appear that your copy has been created. To navigate to the new page, switch to the Websites view where your new page will be shown in the List View of the current directory.
