Introduction

Related Links are small blocks of content (usually links) that are situated at the bottom of the left navigation sidebar on your pages. Like Shared Content, one cluster can be displayed on all of your pages, but you can also build a series of them for use on different sections of your site.

Build a Related Links Cluster

  1. In the Sites console, navigate to your Site-Wide Configuration directory (see screenshot below) and the the folder Related Links Menus.
  2. Cick the Create button (upper right of the window) and for the template, choose Related Links Menu.
  3. Title and name your new menu something intuitive so others can guess its purpose out of context.
  4. Back in the page tree, select the new page and click Edit.
  5. In the Edit Console, build out your new menu (usually with links).

Place the Related Links Cluster

  1. Return to the Sites Console and navigate to the page on which you wish to include this new menu.
    • If you want the menu on every page of your site, choose your home page.
    • If you want the menu only on a certain section of your site, choose the parent page of that section.
    • Related links are automatically inherited by child pages.
  2. Select the chosen parent page and click Properties in the Command Menu that appears at the top of the window.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. On the Related Links Reference box, click the magnifying glass.
  5. In the Select Path pop-up window, browse to and select the desired Related Links menu (remember, this will be inside your site's Site-Wide Configuration directory).
  6. Click OK to set the new Related Links Reference, or Cancel to exit without making any changes.

Responsive Web Design (RWD)

On small-screen devices, Related Links are displayed in the 'burger' dropdown navigation, but are hidden below the second level of navigation.

Example

An example of a Related Links list appears on this webpage, in the bottom of the left sidebar. Often they are entitled 'Related Links' but that heading can be changed.
