We've heard one report of Social Buttons suddenly going 'missing'.
Social Buttons are often used in your site's header or footer, and provide links to social media channels with matching icons.
The cause was ad blocker software, user installed software intended to stop those annoying embedded or pop-up ads that are so pervasive on commercial websites. The software was targeting the social media links.
In this case, it was AdBlock Fanboy, and their software apparently includes filters to block share links as well as social media icons.
The workaround is to turn off this software, or ask it to ignore particular websites.
Requests submitted by the online forms will be triaged quickly by the UBCMS Help Desk.
Expect UBCMS outages Wednesday mornings from 4:30 to 6:30 during routine updates.
Also, the footer links to documentation provided by our vendor, Adobe AEM. But please note that not all vendor instructions apply to our installation. Some features may not be available, as the UBCMS has been modified to suit the needs of our community.
