You can use Page Properties to adjust many important settings that influence how the page is displayed or used within the UBCMS. In most cases, the changes are immediate.
Please be careful when adjusting these settings. Some changes may have unexpected results, including affecting pages on other sites.
Page Properties has seven tabs: Basic, Advanced, Scheduling, Image, Background, Stewardship and Social.
This tab controls the main settings for the page. The Title should reflect what you entered when you created the page. You can then make additional adjustments as noted below, although no further changes are required.
When viewed in the browser tab, search results, or bookmarks, UBCMS page titles will always end with ' - University at Buffalo'.
Use Site Title as H1
This area allows modification of additional settings and is mostly intended for developers.
Please be careful with these options. Some, such as Vanity URL, can impact other websites if not set carefully.
If the Design setting is not correct for your site, the Sidekick will no longer show components (and you will have other troubles). Reset to a previous Version or Contact Us.
Without extra provisions such as server-level redirects, the Alias setting will cause every page under it to have two URLs. This can be bad for SEO and can greatly complicate Google analytics.

Using these settings, Publishers can control when content displays in a list, and schedule page activation and deactivation (compare to Activate/Deactivate Later).
If either of the On/Off times is in the past, you must activate the page to push the modifications over to the live site.
This image does not require alt text: If your image is purely decorative and does not aid in navigation, check this box instead of entering alt text. The image will be ignored by screen readers.

This option allows authors to override the parent site's default background color and image.
To make a change from the parent site, choose "use this color and image" and then select a color from the chooser, or choose an image by uploading from your desktop or or dragging from the DAM.

Subject Matter Expert:
By default, UBCMS pages will draw 'teaser' details for Twitter and Facebook social media channels from the current UBCMS page (title, lead image and first paragraph). These settings allow authors to add alternate meta data to appear in social-media channels.
Using the example details above, here are the corresponding resulting shown on some social media channels.
