UB Web Management

Transforming UB’s digital communications through process and tools

Hands-on Training Course

Two people working at a computer.

The Division of University Communications is pleased to provide instructor-led, hands-on training courses for UB Content Management System (UBCMS) users.

Hands-on Approach

The training sessions are a great opportunity for users to acquire familiarity with the UB Content Management System (UBCMS) through a hands-on approach.

Participants in these small group sessions will learn all about the UBCMS, including:

  • the various roles, such as Viewer, Author, Publisher and Advanced Users
  • how to log in
  • becoming familiar with the UBCMS interface
  • the basics of creating Web pages in the UBCMS
  • editing and modifying Web pages
  • how to use the various components available within the UBCMS
  • how to leverage the templates available in the UBCMS

Participants will be provided with their own computer and will follow along interactively as the course presenter creates  mock Web pages using the UBCMS.  (Appologies to MAC users -- these computers run Windows -- but please do NOT bring your own laptop to the class.)

Prerequisites

  1. The participants - or a representative from their site team - should have attended an orientation session with University Communications prior to training. Check with your site owner, or request a DCT orientation session.
  2. View the UBCMS online training module [approx. 50 minutes] before attending your training session.
