Coding was installed that automatically adds the reCAPTCHA function to the Contact/Form page template in the UBCMS.

Known as reCAPTCHA, the feature has also been added to the Form Components menu of the CQ5 sidekick.

It’s important to note that for existing forms, authors will need to manually add the reCAPTCHA component to the form. It will not appear automatically in existing forms. However, when choosing a new Contact/Form page template, reCAPTCHA will be provided by default.

A CAPTCHA—short for Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart—is a program that can generate a test that a person can pass but which a computer can't.

It's a valuable tool for eliminating spam sent via onlilne forms, such as a "Contact Us" form or a registration form on your site.

Other applications for CAPTCHAs include preventing comment spam in blogs and ensuring that only humans are able to vote in online polls, instead of ballots being stuffed by computer programs.

The reCAPTChA program is a Google product.

Additional anti-spam measures will become functional in the UBCMS in the coming months.
