Training Server has a New URL

Starting Wednesday, August 24, 2015, the UBCMS Training Server will have a new, shorter URL.

https://ubcms-training.buffalo.edu/

Who Will This Affect?

This will impact the following people:

• regular authors experimenting with the Demo Site Playground
• students in our instructor-led training classes
• those taking advantage of our Self-Paced Training
• anyone who has a temporary “sand box” on the Training Server

What is Changing?

Very simply, the Training Server will have a new, shorter URL: https://ubcms-training.buffalo.edu/

We hope that authors will use the new address for training, and to use the Demo Site Playground.

With this new URL, there will be no more security warning as you log in, as we had for the older server.

The old address (https://cmsauth-trn.acsu.buffalo.edu:8443) will continue to work, but we would prefer you change any old bookmarks and stop using it.

Anyone using the old URL will still encounter a security warning, but there is no reason to use this old URL any more.

Please Note:  

• VPN will still be required for off-campus access to the UBCMS training server.  (VPN can be configured for almost any computer or mobile device.) Instructions: http://www.buffalo.edu/ubit/service-guides/getting-connected/instructions-for-connecting.html
• The URL for accessing published training pages is unchanged: http://cmsdisp-trn.acsu.buffalo.edu/
• The URL for the Demo Site Playground will now be https://ubcms-training.buffalo.edu/content/demo.html
