We've heard one report of Social Buttons suddenly going 'missing'.
Social Buttons are often used in your site's header or footer, and provide links to social media channels with matching icons.
The cause was ad blocker software, user installed software intended to stop those annoying embedded or pop-up ads that are so pervasive on commercial websites. The software was targeting the social media links.
In this case, it was AdBlock Fanboy, and their software apparently includes filters to block share links as well as social media icons.
The workaround is to turn off this software, or ask it to ignore particular websites.
