Properties include information about a page instead of what is on the page, including Title, Type (or layout), associated Tags, plus advanced features such as Vanity URLs, Scheduling, details for Social Media and Stewardship, and much more.
1. Log into the UBCMS.
2. Open the Sites Console and navigate to your site; e.g. Sites + Self-Paced Training + {your site}.
3. Select a page then click Properties in the Command Menu that appears at the top of the page.
4. Look through the various tabs that are displayed.
On the Basic tab, you will find the Title, Tags, Page Type, and Navigation Options (for example, Hide in Left Navigation will stop this page from being displayed in the left sidebar navigation). We also encourage you to fill out the Description field, which is used in List teasers.
On the Advanced tab, you will find developer-level tools like Vanity URL and Google Analytics.
On the Scheduling tab, you can set an On or Off Time, which controls when the page appears on your live site. Be very careful with this feature!
On the Image tab, you can add a hidden image to the page that is shown when it is displayed in a list or carousel.
On the Background tab, you can add a background image or color that will be displayed around the edge of your page.
On the Stewardship tab, you can add details about who owns and maintains this page, when the content should be reviewed, and even generate an email notification when that date arrives.
Finally, on the Social tab, you can add additional details that will be used when someone shares this page to a platform like Facebook.
