Step 1 - Preparing for Conversion

In this preparation step, you'll review the conversion process and identify important details specific to your site(s).

Timeframe: 2 weeks prior to conversion wave.
No change freeze needed yet.

What to do in Step 1

  1. Review this conversion process overview to familiarize yourself with the overall process.
  2. Review your detailed site report
    1. If applicable:
      1. Unlock pages prior to conversion wave. Locked pages will cause your conversion to fail.
      2. Review pages with unpublished changes, these pages will go live in Step 3.
      3. Review pages with custom code contained in HTML Snippets, Head content and Site design areas. Your detailed site report will identify specific pages with known issues
  3. Identify pages for review. A strategic selection of pages should be reviewed. It shouldn't be necessary to review every page in a site.

    We suggest:
    • Homepage
    • Landing pages
    • Strategically important pages (refer to your business strategy)
    • Highly visited pages (refer to your analytic data)
    • "Birds of a feather" - One page represents many similar others (news stories, directory entries, program descriptions, etc.)
    • Customized Pages - Especially those noted as having issues in your detailed site report

What to expect next

  • As your start date approaches, EAS will convert your site on the QA2 server.
  • You'll be notified when your wave begins and your site is ready for Step 2.
