Web Page Templates

Template Function More Details
Standard Page with Right Sidebar Most commonly used page template. Creates a page with left navigation, center content area, and right sidebar, that can be adjusted to suit most needs.
Wide Page (no right sidebar) Creates a page with left navigation, a wide content area, but no right sidebar, that works well for content rich pages.
Wide Page (no left navigation) Creates a page with center content area and right sidebar, but no left navigation, that works well for content rich pages.
Gallery Page Creates a page with prebuilt with Photo components in a 3-column layout.
News and Events List Creates a page with prebuilt with News List and Event List components in a common layout.
Standard Page with Banner Image

Creates the same page as 'Wide Page (no right sidebar)' with an additional large Photo component at the top, that is good for secondary pages that need visual impact.
Contact/Form Page Creates a page with prebuilt with a Form Container and common form components.
One Column Page (no secondary navigation)

Creates a page that is a blank slate (no sidebars or preloaded content). Very flexible, for special purpose pages only.
Redirect Page
 Creates a page that sends people to another page in or outside the UBCMS. It is visible in site navigation, but when someone clicks, they are redirected to the specified URL.
Landing Page (home page)

For home pages or major internal landing pages. Has no sidebars, preloaded content or columns.
Landing Page with Right Column (home page) For home pages or major internal landing pages. Has a large main image, blocks of columns, and placeholders to house modular content.

Shared Content Page Templates

Template Function More Details
Parent page for Organization Used to create a folder, to help you group other Shared Content pages into collections.
  
Flexible Shared Content Template Used to create a page that can be populated with any content, to suit most needs when a more specific template is not suitable.
  
Faces and Voices Template Used to create pages that deliver Faces and Voices content, with special fields for quote, photo, and text. Often there will be a collection of these pages.
Highlight Template Used to create pages that will display in carousels, slide decks, and lists and comes prebuilt with special fields for that purpose. This may be a single page or part of a collection.
News Article Template Used to create pages for use in News Lists and carousels, with special fields for photo, headline, date, body text. Often there will be a collection of these pages.  
Faculty Profile Master Template (Authoritative Content)

Only available for use in Authoritative Content profiles folder. These pages have no content except a redirect to the location of their corresponding faculty profile page and tags that support building collections of corresponding departmental profile pages built using the Faculty Profile Template.
Faculty Profile Template (Authoritative Content)

Used to create department-level pages that are then redirected through the Faculty Profile Master Template pages for display on one or more department websites. Often there will be a collection of these pages.
Module Container Used to create a page that aggregates other Shared Content content for display in a sidebar or homepage cell.
  
Redirect Page Used to create a page that sends people to another page in or outside the UBCMS. The page is visible in lists but when someone clicks, they are redirected to the specified URL.
Feed Importer Template Create a page that will automatically display content from an external RSS feed.

  • Strong presentation of CTA button within the navigation.
  • CTA button can be directly related to rollover or link clusters.
  • Related link clusters, headings provide clear purpose while link text provides scent.
  • 'You may be interested in' provides related links to off-site resources.
Informational

Complex sites that are a hybrid of marketing and informational.
  • Well-defined link clusters.
  • Strong presentation of CTA button within the navigation.
Showcase Lists

Complex sites.
  • Showcases opportunities visually with strong visual impact.
  • Strong presentation of CTA button within the navigation.
Showcase Gallery

Complex sites.
  • Showcases opportunities visually with strong visual impact.
  • Strong presentation of CTA button within the navigation.
Transactional

Complex sites.
  • Built from the Informational Template but focuses on conversions (e.g. admissions, registration, sales).
  • Strong presentation of CTA button within the navigation.
  • Sets the path and context with a strong call to action.
Related Content
 Standard sites or directories.
  • Supplements the Basic Menu Template.. (Not a stand alone.)
